I am a long time Swiss watch fanatic.I've owned over 20 Breitlings, over 20 Omegas, etc., etc.For me, Victorinox is not usually thought of as the height of horological craftsmanship. But this watch is pretty decently done.

The case is high quality, on par with mid-level swiss watches (Oris, Tissot, etc.).The crown is nice and large. The movement is a lower-grade ETA movement. The finish is workmanlike. But who cares. It runs well.

The bracelet has solid links, which is a plus. The links are held together with split pins, about two notches below screwed links and one notch below collared friction pins. That is the low point. But the bracelet clasp is decent and has a diver's extension. The clasp has three holes for micro adjustment via springbar. In addition, there are two half links on the bracelet.Getting the perfect fit should not be hard to do.

A sapphire crystal on the front is nice to have.It is nicely recessed into the case (no chipping problems like Rolexes suffer-- but let's not go there, ok?)The display back is a mineral crystal, but very thick. The 500m depth rating is really impressive.

The dial is very legible and the lume is bright, although the lume on the hands is significantly brighter than that on the hour markers.

The bezel has a very solid click, much more high end than I expected to find.Interestingly, there is lume on the bezel too.

I have a 7" wrist and this watch is not too big, at least by today's standards and styles.

The gunmetal finish on the SS case and bracelet is really attractive. We'll have to see how it holds up.

Why five stars? For the price, this is one heck of a watch.Others to consider in this category are Oris TT divers, Doxa subs and Marathon.

I first saw this watch at a Timeworks store for $1095 thought it was a nice looking masculine watch.Well look at it this way it stopped me as I walked by and I had just been by the Breitling store and was more interested in the Bently Speed 8 model car in the window.I was browsing Amazon when I saw this watch for $657 used super saver shipping and it took about 8 working days to Hawaii. Product arrived with no issues. It looks better on my wrist than it did in the showcase.I'm pretty small but 45mm size looks impressive. The watch is steel not titanium but wieght is not a problem. The PVD Black Ice finish is very durable.Couple features that would make this product a five star watch. Digital display not backlit (you will lose the use of digital in the dark but analog hands have good luminesence) a screwdown crown would make me more comfortable about water resistance. This watch has been called a poor mans Breitling Aerospace. That would be a kinda fair comparison the Breitling has backlit digital at about $2800+ on the low end but the Swiss Army's angled digital display windows look more tech/modern and the huge numbers are easier to read.I frequently wear ORIS watches but usually get "what brand is that" even from watch counter people. At $657 this watch is a steal the brand is reliable and respected.

Product Description:
Cool, retro-styling meets precision craftsmanship in the #V251301 Victorinox Swiss Army Men's Chrono Classic XLS MT Watch. Featuring a hybrid analog-digital display, this multifunction timepiece showcases a silver-tone dial with gunmetal-finish Arabic numeral indexes and hands, which match the gunmetal PVC finish on the watch's stainless steel bezel, case, and band. Its textured crown allows you to switch easily between different views on the two LCD displays. You can view the time in hours, minutes, and seconds, track a second time zone, check the date via a perpetual calendar, or verify what day of the week it is (in English, French, German, or Spanish), and you can control the watch's countdown timer with alarm and its chronograph with 1/100th second timing and split functions. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective finish protects the watch face and helps ensure easy-reference. And, of course, this Victorinox Swiss Army watch is powered by precise, Swiss-quartz movement. The watch is held in place by a deployment clasp with a push button and is water resistant to 330 feet (100 meters).
