The disadvantages:
* the digital display is often obscured by the analogue hands.
* the digital display is rudimentary - poor format for date, digits only.
* no countdown timer.The competition:
If you really want a watch that does all the things routinely expected of a digital watch plus temperature, altitude and compass, look at Casio and Suunto.They have several models that do it all, with a clearer, more easily read display plus extra features like recording temperature and altitude.And they are cheaper.

In summary, the Tissot is for status, but if you want a tool that will do the job, get a Casio or Suunto.

I have had the Tissot for about 2 weeks.I will sell it and go back to my 15 year old Casio Alti-Thermo.

(More customer reviews)I bought this on watch on a cruise and Amazon's price is better. I've had several take notice since this is a striking watch but not big and heavy (titanium). It is a touch watch so you press a button on the watch then the face becomes a touch screen to select different services by touching the face such as altimeter, temperature, barometer, alarm, timer, or even a compass (with rotating bezel, N,S,W,E). All are functional. The barometer is very helpful as it keeps tracks of trends and will give you a general idea if bad weather is coming (in millibars). If pressure is increasing the watch will move to the right of 12, left if falling and on 12 if no change (with LED window showing millibars. The altimeter is useful but keep in mind it is a barometric altimeter so you need to adjust it for pressure like any barometric altimeter. Mytwo gripes are for the tempurature you have to leave the watch off for 15 minutes or it will not give you an accurate reading. Surprisingly you there is not light features so you can't use it at night without external lighting. Therefore these two options give it a four star rating not five.

Lastly, fairly accurate time piece...Swiss made.

(Please note: A few of those with the orange band version of the touch screen had problems with it after six months and a few met rude customer support who fought on not honoring the warrenty according to the poster. I've had the watch for 4 weeks and have had no problems so far but hope this problem was an anomaly.)

(More customer reviews)I've now had this watch for five months and it is by far the best looking watch I have ever had. (I love carbon fiber.) The titainium makes it very light for its size, it functions as advertised. I have put the features to the test and have found the watch to be very accurate. There isn't a light to read the watch in the dark with but I haven't found that to be a problem since giving up my cat burgler job. :-)

I purchased this watch and was relatively pleased for about two months before it started to poop out on me, after replacing the battery at my own cost, I finally contacted customer service. After a long ordeal, I was able to get someone to send a replacement thanks to watch. When I received it, it was shortened by a few links. So after getting it up and running again....it once again crapped out on me. Then when I contact customer service, they tell me that the COMPANY HAS FOLDED AND THEY NO LONGER HONOR THE WARRANTY....(read, I'm SOL)
its nice to be appreciated, DON'T BUY THIS DAMN THING

(More customer reviews)I bought this watch as a gift for my Dad who is a big hiker and prefers an analog watch.It seems to be a nice quality -- good finish and sturdy look, nicely sewn leather strap -- though the compass that swings out from the side of the watch is really quite small and therefore, of limited use.I mean, it will give you general bearing but not much more.It's also somewhat bulky -- but no worse than the homely plastic digitals at the local outdoor store chain.Otherwise pleased and the Amazon vendor had a great price -- about 35% off of retail.

Overall, a good buy for the money.

I like the look and baught a new one.
Do not expect any help from The National Geographic in case of damage to your wach. The watch is signed on their name and that's it.
Conclusion, very nice looking product, not very reliable.
