(More customer reviews)This watch was received in good order from Amazon directly.The watch has more protective film than I have seen on any item I have ever seen.I immediately took all of the film to get a good look at my purchase which was a mistake, but I will get to that later.The watch is beautiful.

I took my watch to have it sized at an authorized Movado dealer (found on Movado.com).The person who sized my watch was used to full links and half links.This watch has large one & a half links (1.5) and half links (1/3 the size of the one & a half link).Well the person took the right amount of links out (by chance), though it was all on one side and the watch felt tight because of the way the hidden clasp is designed.Per this person when they sized watches the bottom is usually longer than the top to accommodate most watch clasps.This protocol was used throughout the many trial and error resizes until we hit a near symmetrical (both sided even) of the very first amount of links taken out.So, make sure when you resize have them keep the link removal even because the hidden clasp is symmetrical.

After I got my newly resized watch I noticed small scratches on the bracelet.They were pretty much superficial, though even with Amazon's bargain price this is still an expensive watch.If I had kept the protective film on I bet this would not have happened.

I've had this watch for about a month and wear it every day.It gets scratches mainly on the small highly polished squared on the bracelet because I have it on when I play with my kids, go shopping in the home improvement store, and other watch scratching activities.There is also one small scratch on the brushed area and no scratches on the crystal (the crystal should never get any damage unless you are rubbing it against sapphire or diamond).I wipe the watch down with a jeweler's cloth before I go out and it looks near flawless from two feet away.

From what I gathered from included documentation, Movado does not carry the warranty, Amazon does.

(More customer reviews)Every Movado watch is a piece of practical and functional artwork, particularly the company's "Museum" watches. In many ways, these are the "classic" Movado watches, with their distinctive numeral-less round faces and disc in the "12" position.

Unlike Rolexes which, although quality products, suffer from grotesque overexposure on the wrists of Yuppies, Movados are still understated, chic, and reasonably priced. As an attorney, I have had new clients exclaim, "I was afraid you'd be wearing a Rolex!" but nobody has anything but compliments for my Movado, which does not scream "narcissistic overindulgence!" from across a room. Rolexes are great watches too, so it's a shame they've developed a negative image.

Movado backs their product. When I had a little trouble with the wristband clasp on mine and took it to the Movado store, they not only fixed the broken clasp but put the watch through a checklist of standard tests, where it was discovered that the waterproofing gasket had been damaged (probably by a careless flea market jeweler who changed the battery at one point). Off went the watch to the Movado factory. When it was returned ten days later, I got back a watch that was literally as good as new (and yes, it WAS mine, which had been personally engraved), along with a lecture on how I should ALWAYS send my watch to Movado for servicing. For customers who live nowhere near a Movado store, the company maintains a very effective mail-in service.

My watch is this very same "Esperanza" model with the sinature black face, gold hands and gold disc. I find the contrast easier to read than on white-faced models, but whatever you prefer, and whether you are a man or a woman, you will be buying a quality product that your great grandchild might very possibly choose to wear on his or her wedding day.
