Omega Men's 2908.50.91 Seamaster Planet Ocean Automatic Chronometer Black Strap Watch Review

I just love OMEGA timepieces. Not only do they offer the best balance between cost and quality but they are beautifully designed, striking that perfect chord of understated sophistication and timid power. It is like going slow while driving a muscle car.

This PLANET OCEAN SEAMASTER is just gorgeous. The faceplate is easy to read under all conditions (the domed sapphire-crystal is double anti-glare and the tritium hands and numerals magnificently luminescent). The black-stainless steel-offwhite-orange theme is perfectly balanced and it will compliment most outfits.

My advice: buy the steel-band version and, at the same time, order the rubber strap (it is usually cheaper than ordering a steel band later on its own). You may need to visit your jeweler whenever you will decide to switch between the bands but for a small price you will essentially have two completely different-looking watches.

On a planet of water, in a desert of cities, under the canopy of the stars this is what should keep time.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Omega Men's 2901.51.82 Seamaster Planet Ocean Automatic Chronometer Rubber Strap Watch Review

I bought this watch,to be more precise the model is theOmega Men's Seamaster Planet Ocean Automatic Chronometer Rubber Strap Watch #2901.51.82directly from amazon on july 21, 2009. Watch work fine for exactly four months, on november 21th it suddenly stoped working, after a couple of hours after it stopped, i did readjust the time and after screwing the crown the watch started working again, after a couple of minutes it stoped again, i did repeat these 3 or 4 times until giving up. For what is worth the watch was always taken good care of, according to the omega instruccion manual, never expose it to heat or magnetic fields, neither to any kind of extreme conditions, overall the watch looks like new.

Amazon warranty claims for watch repair, replacement or refund is a pain in the neck , and after all the trouble, after registering all the info of the watch and detailing the problem to them, their only answer is that"We're Unable to Process Your Request", and the claim was denied.

Bottom line NEVER buy an OMEGA or other luxury watch brand from AMAZON, the saving you'll get it just not worth it, after all, your just getting a fine watch without any support or valid manufacturer warranty.

Omega Men's 2503.52.00 Seamaster Aqua Terra Railmaster Automatic Watch Review

It's a fantastic watch with a classic look and feel. Not as big as most of the seamaster line, it looks great against a good suit or tux. Even though it is smaller it has a more refined feel than a Tag, Edox, or Breitling.

-Cheers

Product Description:
Set sail with confidence and style to points unknown with this classic Omega Aqua Terra stainless steel men's automatic chronometer watch, part of Omega's Seamaster line. This highly accurate timepiece is as comfortable negotiating deals in the boardroom as it is navigating the breaking seas. Definitively masculine in design, it features a mid-sized, round silver stainless steel watch case with a rhodium-plated finish that blends brushed and polished surfaces and measures 38mm (1.50 inches) wide.
It features a slightly raised, highly polished bezel that frames a black dial background with Dauphine hands, a mix of silver tone triangular dial markers and Arabic numerals (at the quarter hours), and small minute indexes. Other features include a scratch-resistant and glare-proofed domed sapphire crystal, and water resistance to 150 meters (500 feet). It's completed by a silver stainless steel link bracelet band that offers polished highlights, which is joined by a deployment-clasp-with-push-button clasp.
Originally created in the 1750s, the first chronometers were clocks that were accurateenough to calculate the longitude of a ship's position. Today, the chronometer label is bestowed upon timepieces that have undergone precision tests and received a certificate from the official COSC (Control Officile Suisse de Chronometers) regulatory organization that rigorously tests and certifies (or fails) watch movements for chronometer status.
Automatic Watch Movement
An automatic watch is self-winding, and its movement has a reserve that must be at least partially filled prior to being worn. This is done by shaking and winding the timepiece manually. In order for an automatic timepiece to keep a reserve, it must be worn daily for 8 hours of active wear. This watch as a 44-hour power reserve.
The Omega Story
The Omega watch story begins in 1848, when founder Louis Brandt began hand assembling key-wound precision pocket watches from parts supplied by local craftsmen in his principality La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the northwest corner of Switzerland. However, the Omega name didn't appear until 1894, after Louis Brandt had passed away and his watchmaking traditions were taken over by his sons, Louis-Paul and Cesar Brandt. Omega watches have long been associated with glamorous screen and sports stars--the Omega Seamaster is famous for being the watch of choice for James Bond--with current ambassadors including Pierce Brosnan, Nicole Kidman, tennis player Anna Kournikova, and swimmers Michael Phelps and Ian Thorpe.
But Omega is more than just a fashionable watch. In 1965, the Omega Speedmaster chronograph was "flight-qualified by NASA for all manned space missions" as the only wristwatch to have withstood all of the U.S. space agency's severe tests, including passing grades for extreme shocks, vibrations, and temperatures ranging from -18 to +93 degrees Celsius. The greatest moment in the Speedmaster's history was undoubtedly 20 July 1969 at 02:56 GMT, when it recorded man's first steps on the Moon's surface as part of the Apollo 11 mission. Today, Omega is known for its rigorous testing of new movements, cases, and bands. Each new Omega movement is tested on the wrist in existing Omega models, while various laboratory tests are conducted to determine temperature-resistance, shock-resistance and vibration-resistance.

I bought this product through Watchmaxx here at Amazon, five star company and the watch itself is stunning. Just gorgeous modern looks and is impecably well built. I love it just as much as my Breitlings, Rolex or Zenith watches. This combo is in my opinion the best one, the orange bezel is too much.

I bought this watch for my wife. It came in the factory box in perfect condition except it has a Amazon warranty which is longer than the makers warranty. Very nice watch with serial numbers in place and it was at least $500 cheaper than buying from a dealer. I have no problems in recomending Amazon for your fine watch purchases.

This is a pretty hot watch that has been advertised frequently during the Beijing Olympics Games but it is not part of the official Beijing Collection from Omega quite surprisingly despite the frequent commercials. It is a certified chronometer which means its pretty accurate for an automatic watch. It is basically a modified Planet Ocean and the luminous markers gone and replaced with arabic numbers. This along with the leather-like stitched rubber band gives it an authetic old-style look. There is an adjustable bezel and a chronograph. It also has a unique luminous second hand not found on most watches in addition to luminous hour and minute hands. The band buckle is the most efficient and practical I ever encountered. But what makes this an Olympics Edition is the tiny meticulously crafted 5 colored rings opposite of the second hand pointer.A beautiful piece of working art.

I bought this watch from Amazon and am very satisfied with it. Came in spankin new with everything included except for the international warranty card which Amazon keeps. Checked the serial with Omega HQ in Switzerland and was verified of an authentic watch. For the price, it does make it worthwhile to own. This watch always sells out at Amazon so if its available buy it soon or else you will have to wait for over a month or two for it to be in stock again. I was about to buy it from an authorized dealer but the 2yr warranty &substantial price difference convinced me to buy it from Amazon.

Get it and you won't be disappointed, I guarantee it.
