This model is the same as a 2006 discontinued watch which greatly disappointed me.It worked fine until the "capacitor" had to be replaced. After I spent about $17 on-line for a discontinued replacment capacitor (this is not a battery, or things would have been simpler) and recharged the thing by setting it in my window for five days, the hour and second hands got stuck on 10:47 while the rest of the watch continued to run and keep the date correctly. But now it was "perpetually" 10:47 even when I set it back to run forward from any time before 10:47. And it did work but stopped at this time and just shivered when I tried to advance the time. This was the only gold-toned watch I owned that had the perpetual calendar feature. It kept track of the leap year and month so it was always correct (except for DST). So, I will miss it, and I only paid $150 for it to be shipped from Canada.

Back to my story.Naturally, I had to see what I did when I replaced the capacitor (dropped a tiny screw from the capacitor holder piece somewhere?) Well, since I took the back off again this was enough to make it stop altogether and now it cannot be revived. It refuses to run at all. Citizen does have an extensive database including the old e812 movement with exploded views and all parts, but I am not going to take a discontinued watch like this to get it fixed for more money than I paid for it. ADs will just send this watch to Citizen to be fixed anyway. Now I am looking for a working movement e812 to fit in the case but it is taking too long to locate. If I take the movement apart I know it will be scrap - so what the heck? I will get my stubby fingers in the insides using the watch tools I have accumulated. I like to take stuff apart. Too bad. Hope you have better luck than I had. BTW- The capacitor is now a Panasonic MT 920.
