The watch is heavy (in a good way) and looks even better in person than the pictures.The strap mechanism is easy to put on or take off, and has an S at the closure - nice detail.The mother of pearl is gorgeous.The watch face is loaded with topaz, but they aren't sparkling all over the place, which I think results in understated elegance.

If you have large diameter wrists, this would be a good watch for you.I had to have the jeweler remove three links from the bracelet.

It is true that the date is difficult to read (it's just plain too small) and the beveled face, though beautiful, can distort the clock hands, depending on which angle you are viewing the watch.Overall, a great watch.I wear it every single day, no matter what my outfit is and it always looks great.
